About

Originally from Middle Tennessee, Avery Massey discovered a passion for the restaurant industry during his college years at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he graduated from the College of Business. Over time, he gained experience in every role a restaurant has to offer, from front-of-house to back-of-house operations.

After a few years working in accounting and finance, he relocated to Lake Tahoe, California, where his journey in fine dining truly began. Immersed in the world of flavors and gastronomy, Avery developed a deep appreciation for how wine can elevate a dining experience. Inspired, he pursued certification as a sommelier, completing the introductory course in Reno, Nevada, and passing the Certified Sommelier exam in December 2019, hosted by The Court of Master Sommeliers in San Mateo, California.

Since then, Avery has had the privilege of working with some of the brightest minds in gastronomy and beverages, including master mixologists, cicerones, sake specialists, master sommeliers, and Michelin-starred chefs. His expertise earned him accolades as an award-winning sommelier at esteemed establishments such as River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant, PlumpJack Cafe, and The Ritz-Carlton.

In 2024, with the birth of his daughter, Avery decided to relocate to the Emerald Coast to be closer to family and embark on a new chapter in his career. He’s excited to share his expertise and passion for beverages with his clients and looks forward to crafting exceptional experiences.
